The Headway Mini-Vap Cleaner consists of a special heater, a standard glass beaker and a stainless steal condenser. All interior surfaces are either glass or stainless steal making the unit very valuable for high purity reagent grade vapor processes with a minimum of maintenance.

Trichloroethylene or perchloroethylene is usually the preferred fluid for vapor cleaning or drying. The vapors from the boiling liquid are trapped by the cool condenser at the top of the chamber, and a high density of clean vaporized solvent is maintained between the liquid and the condenser. Objects inserted into this vapor region are drenched with hot liquid until the temperature of the object reaches the temperature of the vapor. Vapor materials can be quickly changed by merely changing beakers.

The Mini-Vaps can be used for cleaning, drying and heating and for storage of cleaned objects. They can be used at the work bench, mounted to the wall or vacuum system. The transparent chamber allows full observation of the cleaning process and chamber cleanliness.

  • Technical Features

    Versatility - Mini-Vaps can be used for cleaning, drying, heating and storage. They can be used at the work bench, mounted to the wall or vacuum system.

    Standard, transparent glass beakers for chambers - The chamber may be easily changed if it becomes contaminated. Also, vapor materials can be quickly changed by merely changing beakers. The glass chambers allow full observation of the cleaning process and chamber cleanliness.

    Stainless steel condenser - The water-cooled condenser is stainless steel. It is used for high purity, reagent grade vapor processes with a minimum of maintenance. The condenser alone can be used in your own special heating situations where volatile fluids need to be trapped.

    Corrosion resistant - The condenser and the exterior of the heater unit are stainless steel, thereby resisting rusting corrosion in corrosive chemical environments. Prevents the typical rust formations that frequently occur on laboratory hot plates and appliances.

    Adjustable temperature setting - Temperature is adjustable with a thermostatic control. The heater units of the Mini-Vaps have open bimetal thermostats and therefore cannot be recommended for use with flammable fluids

    Economical - Due to its simple construction the price is low enough to allow almost every work bench to be properly equipped with a Mini-Vap.

    Minimum loss of vapors - The cool condenser wall, in close proximity to the beaker wall, traps a film of the liquid being used as the cleaning agent. This liquid barrier acts as a seal against leakage of the vapors around the outside of the condenser.

    Chambers and fluids easily changed - Chambers and/or fluids can be easily changed simply by changing beakers

    Valuable for drying - If an object is allowed to air dry, the risk of contamination is great. If the object is placed in the Mini-Vap immediately following alcohol rinse, it can be removed in a few seconds - warm and dry.

    Usable for quick heating - Due to the very rapid transfer of heat from the vapors to inserted objects, the cleaner is very valuable for quick heating.

    Usable for storing clean objects - Clean objects can be stored in solvent vapors until needed.

    Requires only a small amount of operating solution - Because of the efficient operation of the condenser, operating solution requirements are small.

    Low water consumption - The condenser is designed for very efficient water cooling. Water consumption is therefore very low. Nominal minimum requirements: MV4000 0.2 gpm.
